Differences Between the 2025 Toyota Camry vs. 2024 Camry
2025 Toyota Camry Goes Full Hybrid
The biggest and most notable difference between the 2025 Toyota Camry vs the 2024 Camry is that the 2025 model is now hybrid only. The 2024 Camry has both hybrid and gas options. Are there other differences between the two model years? Pohanka Toyota of Salisbury takes a look.
New Powertrain for 2025
The 2024 Toyota Camry offers a four-cylinder and a six-cylinder gas engine. The former makes 203 horsepower, and the latter makes 301 horsepower. However, the new 2025 Toyota Camry only offers hybrid powertrains. The base option makes 184 horsepower with a four-cylinder engine and a single electric motor. The more powerful option adds a second electric motor to push out 225 horsepower. You can add an optional AWD system that makes up to 232 horsepower. The main difference here is that there is no six-cylinder option for the new Camry.
2025 Toyota Camry Gains New Tech
Some upgraded tech is also in store for the 2025 Toyota Camry. The 2024 Toyota Camry comes with a seven-inch touchscreen as standard equipment. The new 2025 Camry upgrades to an eight-inch touchscreen as standard equipment.
You can also spring for the optional 12.3-inch display housing the digital gauge cluster and Toyota Audio Multimedia. Both models still have features like dual-zone automatic climate control, heated and ventilated front seat options, and leather trim for the interior.
Fresh Styling Inside and Out
The Toyota Camry continues to improve with a hybrid powertrain, more tech, and fresh styling inside and out. Compared to the 2024 model, the 2025 Camry has a sleeker roofline and a wider stance. The wheels now feature 10 spokes and come in a 16-inch size with silver paint. The headlights and tail lights are updated with LEDs, and the cabin features a more open layout.
Another new addition is the Qi-compatible wireless charging pad, and you'll now find five USB ports to plug in all your devices. The center console is easily configurable to add more storage solutions.
Simplified Trim Levels For 2025
The trim levels for 2025 include the LE, SE, XLE, and XSE. This is a big difference compared to the 2024 Camry which featured a large number of trims due to the extra powertrains. There was also a Nightshade Edition for the 2024 Camry. The simplified selection of trims with only a hybrid powertrain makes it much easier for buyers to decide what model they want based on the features they want.
2025 vs. 2024 Toyota Camry: More Efficient Than Ever
Unsurprisingly, the 2025 Toyota Camry improves on the fuel economy estimates from the 2024 models. The hybrid powertrain achieves up to 53 MPG in the city and 50 MPG on the highway. The hybrid options on the 2024 Toyota Camry were similar with 51 MPG in the city and 53 MPG on the highway. However, the gas options were quite a bit less fuel efficient with estimates of 28 MPG in the city and 39 MPG on the highway. If you're looking for the most fuel-efficient Camry model ever, the 2025 Toyota Camry is the one.
